If you've signed an agreement to buy or sell real estate, there are certain "fiduciary duties" (legal responsibilities) your real estate agent owes you:

• Obedience - We must obey your lawful instructions related to the transaction.
  
• Loyalty- We must put your needs ahead of our own
  
• Disclosure - We must tell you whatever material facts we know about property
  
• Confidentiality - Unless we have your written authorization to the contrary, we cannot disclose your personal information, especially as it relates to your motivations, or how much you might be willing to pay or accept
  
• Accounting - We are responsible for keeping track of the money and the dates related to the transaction
  
• Reasonable skill and care - We are required to know what we are doing and diligently seek out information and skills needed to do our jobs well.
  

In addition, Realtors® are required to adhere to a stringent code of ethics that guides our actions. We are required to treat all parties fairly and honestly, and we have an absolute obligation never to discriminate against anyone based upon their race, creed, color, ancestry, country of origin, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, age, familial status, lawful source of income, or mental or physical disability.
